I love summer and I am never one to complain about good weather but Jesus, how much more of an effort do us ladies have to make when Mr Sunshine is around?
The legs need to be shaved, dry skin exfoliated and your tan needs to be perfect and moisturised at all times! I would kill for a natural, all-year glow but unfortunately my parents decided to bring me up in good old N.Ireland where we normally wear layers upon layers and it rains 24/7. But no more complaining as we have finally been graced with our few weeks of sun.
In order to combat the lack of said natural glow, we must turn to fake tan, and I have found my new favourite product on the market!
I was kindly gifted some Iconic Bronze products at the recent NI Blogger Brunch and I’m so glad because their dark mouse was on my shopping list for a while. I heard loads of great reviews so I was dying to give it a go myself.
I’ve tried loads of false tanning products over the last 10 years and I can officially say this is my favourite!!
It’s an Irish product, which is even better (support your own!), and is relatively new to the market, launching last August.
They gifted everyone that attended the event a tanning product, their false tan eraser and their gorge velvet mit.
I got the dark mouse and I was really pleased because I always tend to stick to mouse products when it comes to fake tan.
It goes on really well and leaves no nasty lingering smell. It dries super quick and gives you a guide colour instantly. The first time I used it was for a wedding recently, so I thought I would start the tanning process two days previous.
I applied a really light layer at night time and let it develop over night, as I normally would do. I didn’t expect to wake up dark, as I mean a reallllly light layer but omg was I impressed!!
I woke up the perfect shade and had no nasty orange marks around my feet or hands, which are always my weakness. I applied a second layer after I had showered, and when I showered it off the next day I was the perfect colour that lasted for 5 days before I used the tan eraser.
The mit is always amazing, and let’s your tan glide on so well. It’s so soft and the wee thumb pocket really does help when trying to get to those hard-to-reach places. Now that we’ve good weather, we have to tan everywhere, whereas during the winter it’s a simple bottom of the leg job. Or does anyone else just tan the parts of your legs that your ripped jeans show? GUILTY!
The only think I would say, which goes for every tanning product, is that if you want your tan to last, you need to make sure you keep your skin moisturised. I made sure to top up those tricky areas like my knees, elbows and around my neck with moisturiser on day 3 and 4.
Despite them being the most trendy beauty product at the min, I hadn’t used a tan eraser product until this one and I was really impressed.
It did exactly what it said on the tin; erased my tan!
I applied it ten mins before getting into the shower and left it to develop before scrubbing with exfoliater gloves. My tan came off really well and I was ready to apply a fresh layer straight away.
It tingles slightly but that’s expected and it wasn’t uncomfortable in any way. I’ll definitely be using this all summer long in between my coats of tan.
I’ve used the tan 4 times now and the eraser twice and I would definitely recommend both products. You can check out their website here or purchase their products in most Gordon’s Chemists in NI.
