Hope you are all well and enjoying your Monday evening. I am sure I’m not the only one that was glued to the TV and social media all weekend following two very high profile weddings. Of course the Royals getting married was always going to be a pretty big deal, but I also could not wait to see what Irish blogger, Rosie Connolly was wearing and how she planned her day.
As I’m sure you all have seen the style and the numerous wedding gowns by now, I thought I’d just do a general post on my favourite looks from the weekend. Between royal celebrities and Irish influencers – OMG the style was fierce!!
Now as much as it would never be my style of dress, I thought Meghan looked absolutely breath taking in her pure white, off the shoulder simple gown. It was designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller, the first female artist of French fashion house, Givenchy.
The five-meter long veil really stole the show for me and literally took my breath away when it was laid out along the steps of St George’s Chapel. I’m not gonna lie – I shed a lot of tears watching the build up on Saturday morning, and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. It was reported an average of 11 million viewers watched on BBC and ITV, and 110,000 people lined the streets of Windsor. Did anyone else see the wee page boy’s face when the trumpet fan fair started as she was about to walk down the aisle? Oh my god, my heart melted and I’m sure his expression was mirrored across many faces around the world. What a magical moment in history!
But anywaysssssss, onto my best dressed of the day.
George & Amal
It comes as no surprise, but Amal was my favourite look of the day. She was like a ray of sunshine walking down to the chapel alongside her silver fox of a husband. If you’re a regular follower of The Big F Word, you will know all about my love of yellow/mustard and as soon as I saw this Stella McCartney dress I fell in love. It’s a 10/10 from me doll!
Abigail Spencer & Priyanka Chopra
How amazing were these girl’s outfits? Abgigal’s polka dot number was so stunning with the contrasting white cuffs and collar and I thought Priyanka’s strong and confident lilac two-piece really stole the show. They meant business when they strutted in on Saturday morning. Polka dots and lilac are both big trends for this season and these girls wore them incredibly well.
Rosie Connolly’s Big Day
I was really shocked by Mrs Connolly-Quinn’s style of gown as I thought she would have went for something more slinky. Nonetheless, I thought she looked absolutely beautiful in the fishtail dress and her simple jumpsuit for the next day was also stunning.
Now this wedding was sooo filled with stunning outfits and accessories I could never whittle it down to two favourite looks. So I stole some snaps from Instagram of what I thought were the best outfits of the day.
Louise Cooney’s lemon and lavender dress was my overall favourite, but I thought Lauren Arthurs looked incredible in red as well. And did you see Mark Rodger’s mint green suit? Stunning hun!
And there you have it, my favourite looks from a very fashionable weekend. Which was your favourite? Wedding season is definitely in full swing at the minute, I have a one this weekend and I cannot wait!! Fingers crossed the sun is splitting the sky and we all have a great weekend of celebrations.
