Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last few weeks, you will have seen that metallic colours are everywhere on the high street at the minute; whether it’s silver, gold or a mix of both, it is the perfect hue to make sure you shine (literally!) this winter.
It’s been around since earlier this year, and there is no sign of it pissing off anytime soon. The good thing about this trend is that you can get something to suit all shapes and sizes, you will see it on everything from converse to clutch bags, from ball gowns to bobbles – there will be something out there for you.
Over the weekend I was at wedding, and if your anything like me, I was pulling my hair out trying to find the perfect dress for the occasion.
Why is it so bloody hard to find that perfect dress??
I hadn’t been to a wedding in years and I really wanted something special, and despite trolling through umpteen websites and shop rails, I was just bored of everything that I found.
Until I found this little baby!
Very is a website that I would never even think of shopping on, I don’t have a reason why, but it just would never come into my head to look on there. Until a little add on Facebook cropped up – I normally hate those tempting cookies but this time I was praising their existence.
I himm-ed and haa-ed, and after a good few messages back and forth in my trusty old whats app group, I ordered it. It was £80, but is now reduced to £48 since the Black Friday reductions – isn’t that always the way??? You can find it here.
Once I got it I knew what way I wanted to style it and I hunted down a pair of strappy black heels and a jewelled choker. The heels were on sale from Office and I got the choker, very last minute from ASOS.
I know a full-length, metallic silver dress isn’t the most versatile thing to have in your wardrobe, so I’ve had a peak to see what other retailers are offering. Shop my favourite picks below – I have you covered from your head right down to your tippy toes.
Have you seen any stunning metallic pieces out there lately? Or have you any styling tips to really make them pop?
